It has also come to light that a special police unit had been conducting a drill or exercise in downtown Oslo which involved the detonation of bombs – exactly what caused the bloodshed a few hundred meters away little more than 48 hours later.

In my estimation, pregnant women should never consume foods containing aspartame at any level, for the reasons I have discussed. The aspartic acid, phenylalanine and methanol are all known to produce abnormal development of a baby's brain.

Former Australian pilot says toxic engine fumes made him sick

A former pilot for Australia's largest airline claims he was paralysed in mid-flight because of "aerotoxic syndrome" - exposure to toxic engine fumes on airliners, The Sunday Telegraph reports.

Campaigners say that poisonous chemicals leaking into the aircraft cabin cause symptoms ranging from dizziness, hallucinations, memory loss and fatigue to seizures and even paralysis.

Passengers are also thought to be affected, but campaigners say the symptoms are often confused with jetlag, so few complain.

Google's roving Street View spycam may blur your face, but it's got your number. The Street View service is under fire in Germany for scanning private WLAN networks, and recording users' unique Mac (Media Access Control) addresses, as the car trundles along.

Germany's Federal Commissioner for Data Protection Peter Schaar says he's "horrified" by the discovery.

"I am appalled… I call upon Google to delete previously unlawfully collected personal data on the wireless network immediately and stop the rides for Street View," according to German broadcaster ARD.

Spooks have long desired the ability to cross reference the Mac address of a user's connection with their real identity and virtual identity, such as their Gmail or Facebook account.

Other companies have logged broadcasting WLAN networks and published the information. By contrast Google has not published the WLAN map, or Street View in Germany; Google hopes to launch the service by the end of the year.

But Google's uniquely cavalier approach to privacy, and its potential ability to cross reference the information raises additional concerns. Google CEO Eric Schmidt recently said internet users shouldn't worry about privacy unless they have something to hide. And when there's nowhere left to hide...?

In a controversial move, the European Commission yesterday (2 March) gave the green light for the first genetically-modified potato to be cultivated in the European Union.
The EU executive authorised the cultivation in the EU of Amflora, a genetically-modified potato developed by German chemical company BASF,

The move marked the bloc's first GM cultivation approval in 12 years.

BASF plans to begin cultivating Amflora this year on 250 hectares in the Czech Republic, Sweden and Germany. The firm said it expected peak license fees of about 20-30 million euros ($27-40.6 million) per annum.
The EU executive also approved three genetically-modified maize types made by US biotech firm Monsanto for food and feed uses and import and processing in the European Union.
German Green MEP Martin Häusling, a member of the European Parliament's agriculture committee, commented: "I am shocked that Health and Consumer Protection Commissioner John Dalli has only needed weeks in his new position to show such flagrant support for industry interests ahead of his own portfolio. His decision to authorise the Amflora potato variety flies in the face of the 70% of consumers who are against GM food, as well as the anti-GM position of the European Parliament."

Head of 'Climategate' research unit admits sending 'pretty awful emails' to hide data

The Climategate row, which was first revealed by the Daily Mail in November, was triggered when a hacker stole hundreds of emails sent from East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit.
They revealed scientists plotting how to avoid responding to Freedom of Information requests from climate change sceptics.
Some even appeared to show the researchers discussing how to manipulate raw data from tree rings about historical temperatures.
In one, Professor Jones talks about using a 'trick' to massage figures and 'hide the decline'.

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

According to a recent Zogby poll, traveling Americans approve long lines and gridlock at airport passenger screening points. The majority polled appreciate delays and hassles of flying today's suspicious skies and feel safer because the federal Transportation Security Agency (TSA) is in charge of airport screening.1 These happy line campers should be delighted to learn about TSA's grossly invasive new security plans. The good times have just begun.

TSA Security Laboratory Director Susan Hallowell recently announced the agency's intent to use back-scatter X-ray machines for passenger surveillance. These hugely expensive, closet-sized zappers can find the plastic bombs hidden in grandma's underpants, while delivering a smacking dose of ionizing radiation to her breasts and thyroid gland.

Snooper X-rays penetrate a few centimeters into the flesh and reflect off the skin to form a naked body image for TSA security personnel to inspect. These machines are already being field tested at several U.S. airports, including JFK, LAX and Orlando.2

The most lucrative growth industry of our times is the "terror" business. Legions of companies lusting for government contracts are churning out police state technology at a frantic pace. In the last 17 months, TSA has received over 30,000 proposals for Big Brother technology and equipment needed to keep 280 million citizen-suspects under careful surveillance from the inside out.3

Big winners include companies whose equipment is assisting TSA's Advanced Technology Checkpoint Project to nudify airline passengers.4 Digital Security Systems of Miami is promoting its ConPass Security Body Scanner, which can perform virtual cavity searches using deeply penetrating X-radiation. Company engineer Thomas Wiggins says the scanner can detect explosives hidden inside bodies or surgically implanted under flabby folds of skin. Wiggins admits that before 9-11, "The thought of using an X-ray system would have been like ordering our own death sentence." Now Wiggins claims that the ConPass scanner "could scan a pregnant woman around 200 times without a health risk."5

Virtually all passengers and airline crews who pass through airport screening checkpoints in the U.S. may soon be forced to submit to compulsory, whole-body X-ray exposure. Some fliers could be "fried" several times in one day. Frequent fliers could get hit hundreds of times each year. Pregnant women, infants, the chronically ill and immune suppressed would get the rays. Grateful herds of traveling livestock, prodded by TSA drovers through federally-funded "nuke chutes," are expected to believe Hollowell's scientifically unsupported assertion that ionizing radiation delivered via backscatter will be "about the same as sunshine."6

Officials must naturally defend compulsory passenger X-rays as harmless. But they are signing no guarantees because ionizing radiation in the X-ray spectrum damages and mutates both chromosomal DNA and structural proteins in human cells.7 If this damage is not repaired, it can lead to cancer.8 New research shows that even very low doses of X-ray can delay or prevent cellular repair of damaged DNA, raising questions about the safety of routine medical X-rays.9 Unborn babies can become grotesquely disfigured if their mothers are irradiated during pregnancy.10 Heavily X- rayed persons of childbearing age can sustain chromosomal damage, endangering offspring.11 Radiation damage is cumulative and each successive dose builds upon the cellular mutation caused by the last.12 It can take years for radiation damage to manifest pathology.

A leading U.S. expert on the biological effects of X-radiation is Dr. John Gofman, Professor Emeritus of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Gofman's exhaustive research leads him to conclude that there is NO SAFE DOSE-LEVEL of ionizing radiation.13 His studies indicate that radiation from medical diagnostics and treatment is a causal co-factor in 50 percent of America's cancers and 60 percent of our ischemic (blood flow blockage) heart disease.14 He stresses that the frequency with which Americans are medically X-rayed "makes for a significant radiological impact."15

This highly credentialed nuclear physicist states: "The fact, that X-ray doses are so seldom measured, reflects the false assumption that doses do not matter...[but] they do matter enormously. And each bit of additional dose matters, because any X-ray photon may be the one which sets in motion the high-speed, high energy electron which causes a carcinogenic or atherogenic [smooth muscle] mutation. Such mutations rarely disappear. The higher their accumulated number in a population, the higher will be the population's mortality rates from radiation-induced cancer and ischemic heart disease."16

A report in the British medical journal Lancet noted that after breast mammograms were introduced in 1983, the incidence of ductal carcinoma (12 percent of breast cancer) increased by 328 percent, of which 200 percent was due to the use of mammography itself.17 A Lawrence Berkeley National Lab study has demonstrated that breast tissue is extremely susceptible to radiation-induced cancer,18 confirming warnings by numerous experts that mammograms can initiate the very cancers they may later identify.19 Dr. Gofman believes that medical radiation is a co-factor in 75 percent of breast cancer cases.20 So why would girls and women want their breast tissues irradiated every time they take a commercial flight?

Cancer is number two cause of death in the U.S. behind heart disease. The more marathon walks and cookie eating contests we sponsor to fund the "war" on cancer, the more cancer we get. "America isn't winning the war on cancer after all," the Wall Street Journal recently reported.21 The National Cancer Institute admits that America's cancer rates in almost every category are rising steadily.22 Airline pilots and cabin crews suffer a significant incidence of leukemia, skin and breast cancer due to chromosomal damage from ionizing cosmic radiation encountered during years of flying at high altitudes.23

Dr. Gofman's research reveals a dose-response relationship between medical X-rays and fatal heart disease, the number one killer of Americans. He found that X-radiation is a powerful atherogen, causing mutations in smooth muscle cells of coronary arteries. These radiation damaged cells are unable to process lipoproteins correctly, resulting in atherosclerotic plaques and mini tumors in the arteries.24 Radiation used to treat breast cancer can badly damage the heart.25

As Dr. Gofman and other experts argue for improved diagnostic techniques and equipment to reduce medically necessary X-ray exposure, TSA gears up to impose frivolous, nonmusical exposure, even though conventional airline security measures have proven adequate since 9/11. To date, the National Institutes of Health, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association have been silent about TSA's sinister plan to deliver unlimited doses of carcinogenic, mutagenic, heart damaging radiation to the flying public. No health studies are planned to gauge short and long-term effects of the radiation TSA will deliver to inspect our innards.

Big Brother's zap madness is a predictable result of America's post 9-11 security hysteria. But here's the irony: Dr. Gofman says X- radiation has the effect of "grenades and small bombs" on human cells.26 If we permit TSA to continually "bomb" our DNA in the name of security, what have we accomplished?

Besides ionizing beams, the feds are also testing other types of surveillance radiation. A flubbed holographic scanner developed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory allows officials to strip search humans with ultra-high frequency radio waves.27 Millivision of Amherst, Mass., has engineered a millimeter wave scanner using radio frequencies 1,000 times higher than those of an FM broadcast.28 These waves pass through clothing, packaging and building materials. Ultra-high radio frequencies include radar, a spectrum of radiation known since WWII to cause cancer and neurological disability in humans.29 Microwave frequencies are documented by recent studies on cell/cordless phone radiation to be carcinogenic and teratogenic (causing abnormal embryonic development).30

An example of unexpected health repercussions caused by high frequency radiation used on humans is fetal ultrasound technology. Ultrasound equipment bombards a fetus for up to one hour with megahertz radiation. This radiation, which cycles millions of time per second, can cause mutation and bleeding in the intestinal cells of rodents.31 Swedish scientists say routine ultrasound scanning of pregnant women may be causing subtle brain damage in unborn babies.32 Approximately half of all pregnancies in the U.S. result in prenatal or postnatal death, or an otherwise less than healthy baby.33 Many wonder if routine exposure of America's fragile unborn to megahertz radiation might be a factor, among others, of this shocking national statistic. Is fetal ultrasound exposure playing some part in the national epidemic of delayed development in infants, plus learning and behavior difficulties suffered by millions of our school children? Exposing the unborn to ionizing X-radiation at airport checkpoints is an even more dangerous game of roulette.

Fedgov's planned use of health damaging radiation on the traveling public seems especially tragic and abusive to those of us convinced that the War on Terror is a giant con job. Massive evidence indicates that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 were intentionally staged to justify increased power over and surveillance of Americans.34 Key NORAD and other military officials had to be in on the ruse.35 President Bush ambushed himself when he openly lied about what he knew and when he knew it on the day the Twin Towers went down.36. He has been caught lying about so many issues that Homeland Security should issue a red alert every time he is about to move his lips. The Bush administration's ongoing cover-up of 9/11 is so blatant that even Bush's own investigatory commission has expressed outrage at his efforts to block its requests for vital information and resources.37

Meantime, TSA claims concern that Americans may feel humiliated at being viewed naked by X-ray screeners. But whatever airport nuke-nazis see through our clothing is nothing that the undertaker won't see after excessive, state-mandated radiation puts us "down" for good. Mandatory airport surveillance radiation delivered to an already grossly ill population would afford our financially strapped government an ingenious "final solution" to numerous political and economic problems. No muss, no fuss, this cull in the Cuckoos' nest. Each useless eater lines up for his deferred-lethal dose. The weak will die soonest, the strong will eventually become the weak--no questions asked and nothing proven. It's hard for a Prozac nation to imagine such sinister motives behind the terror industry, but the documented truth is, our amoral leadership has been brazenly murdering Americans for decades.38 Genocide specialists have been especially fond of unleashing various forms of deadly radiation on the unwitting masses, as documented by the federal Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments.39 Now here we go again!

Consumers could derail TSA's sinister surveillance projects in a heartbeat. It's called boycott: We simply refuse to get nuked to naked. If we stop booking flights, the airline industry must grind to a halt. TSA would have little choice but to scrap its plans to endanger the national health with unnecessary radiation.

Americans who are still able to think must launch an effort to save ourselves and warn others. 1. Let's demand that Congress mandate TSA's radiation experiments be strictly voluntary. 2. We must demand the right to request that TSA conduct a non-radiation search of our persons. 3. We must demand our right to abstain from security procedures that may harm our children. 4. We must initiate an e-mail campaign to convince TSA and the airlines that forcible assault by radiation makes the cost of an airline ticket impossibly prohibitive.

Wars and disputed elections: issues of greatest danger for journalists

The year 2009 will be remembered marked by two dramatic events: the greatest slaughter of journalists held in a single day, the 30 media workers slain by the private militia of a governor in the southern Philippines, and an unprecedented wave of arrests and convictions of journalists and bloggers in Iran after the contested re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Moreover, to escape imprisonment or death, nearly 160 journalists from all continents made their way from exile, sometimes in very hazardous conditions. Iranian photojournalists across the border into Turkey to escape an arrest or fleeing Somali radio journalists to neighboring countries to avoid certain death, a number of professionals who are all informational intermediaries and those trying to silence by all means.

"Wars and elections have been the main threats to journalists in 2009. It is becoming increasingly dangerous to cover a conflict, to the extent that journalists become targets and are in danger of being killed or kidnapped them. But it can also be dangerous to do this work in electoral period, with the result that you can end up in jail or in hospital. In undemocratic countries has been particularly important in 2009, violence in the periods before or after the election.

Another observation, which represents no surprise is that an increasing number of bloggers and Internet sites hit by censorship and repression. Today there is virtually no country can escape this phenomenon. Whenever the Internet and new media (social networks, mobile phones, etc..) Play an important role in disseminating information, the tide changed for the worse. Now the bloggers are so guarded as journalists in traditional media.

Finally, our biggest concern about the year 2009 is the mass exodus of journalists from repressive countries such as Iran and Sri Lanka. The authorities of these countries have realized that by encouraging journalists to leave substantially reduce the pluralism of ideas and the degree of criticism. This is a very dangerous trend and it is absolutely necessary to denounce with all the strength that we can, "said Jean-Francois Julliard, Secretary General of Reporters Without Borders, due to make public the balance of 2009.

Increase by 26% the number of journalists killed

Almost all the journalists killed in 2009, except for the Franco-Spanish documentarian Christian Poveda, murdered in El Salvador, were nationals. "Less known than the great reporters of international public opinion, however, are those local journalists who, every year, pay a higher price to secure our right to be informed of conflicts, corruption or destruction of the environment", said Jean-Francois Julliard, Secretary General of Reporters Without Borders.

The year 2009 started badly with the Israeli military offensive in Gaza. In addition to closing the foreign media access to the Palestinian territory, the Israeli government carried out a series of violent raids against buildings that house the media, in violation of international humanitarian law. These attacks killed two reporters. In the Russian Caucasus, journalists and human rights advocates have lived the year from all dangers. Natalia Estemirova Akhmedilov Malik in Chechnya and Dagestan, witnessing the dirty war waged by Moscow and its local allies, were eliminated with impunity.

Radical Islamist groups have killed at least 15 journalists around the world. In Somalia, Al-Shabaab militia intensified killings and suicide bombings. A total of nine reporters killed, four of whom work with Radio Shabelle, which attempts to continue reporting despite the chaos. In Pakistan, Taliban groups in the Northwest are increasingly an eye on journalists.

Finally continues to increase slightly the number of kidnappings. Most cases were concentrated in Afghanistan, Mexico and Somalia. If the New York Times reporter David Rohde and its local partner managed to escape from the hands of the Taliban, Afghan reporter instead Munadi Sultan was killed during the military operation intended to save.

"Three years after the Security Council passed UN resolution 1738 on protection of journalists in conflict zones, governments still seem to be unable to guarantee the safety of media professionals," Reporters Without Borders added .

In regard to other forms of violence, assaults and threats increased by one third (from 929 cases in 2008 to 1456 2009). In the Americas (501 cases) is where journalists are more exposed, especially when they denounce drug trafficking, corruption or local potentates. Behind comes Asia with 364 cases of this kind, particularly in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The number of media censored dangerously increasing, with about 570 cases of newspapers, radios or televisions were prohibited to disseminate any information, or even forcing them to closure. That's what happened to a satirical magazine in Malaysia, a dozen reformist newspapers in Iran, and also to Radio France Internationale in the DRC and the BBC World Service in Rwanda.

The number of journalists arrested (673 in 2008 to 573 in 2009) has experienced a slight drop, to be awarded mainly to have reduced imprisonment in Asia. In the Middle East is where it produced the greatest number of cases.

Electoral Violence

The 30 journalists killed on the island of Mindanao covering the attempt by an opponent of the local potentate to register as a candidate for regional elections in 2010. Similarly, by Tunisian journalist Taoufik Ben Brik jailed him in the days following the reelection of President Ben Ali, while suffering a brutal attack on his colleague Slim Boukhdhir. The multiparty elections, a symbol of democracy and free expression, can become nightmares for journalists. At election time the state media often prevents them fairly cover the activities of the candidates, as occurred during the contested election in Afghanistan or the sham election in Equatorial Guinea. And while the most committed journalists are exposed to suffer reprisals from the enemy camp. In voting no is not always respected the right of media access, as demonstrated by the provincial elections in Tamil areas of Sri Lanka.

The most serious problems usually occur at the announcement of results. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's supporters, overwhelmed by an opposition movement that had an enormous echo in the Internet and in the Afghan press, threw themselves into ultra violent repression against hundreds of journalists and bloggers, accused of spying in the pay of foreign or destabilizing agents.

This year, the audacity shown by the journalists in the pre-and post-election was punished with detentions, beatings and imprisonment, some extremely serious. These repeated scenes of repression after a vote should encourage the international community to find ways to better protect press after announcing victories, often stolen or distorted.

"In any case, the wave of violence bodes ill 2010, during which it is scheduled to key elections, including in Ivory Coast, Sri Lanka, Burma, Iraq and the Palestinian territories," said, concerned, Reporters Without Borders that regularly conducts a follow-up of the media in election period.

Over a hundred bloggers and cyber-dissidents jailed

For the first time since the advent of the Internet Reporters Without Borders has registered no fewer than 108 bloggers, cyber-dissidents and Internet users worldwide imprisoned for expressing their opinions on the Web. A figure that highlights the repression that wreaks havoc on the Net, in a dozen countries. Definitely several states have adopted the policy of criminalizing the digital expression, disappointing the hopes of getting an Internet without censorship.

Internet was the engine of democratic protest in Iran, China and elsewhere. Fundamentally therefore, authoritarian governments are as likely to severely punish the internet, as these two bloggers in Azerbaijan sentenced to two years in prison for having mocked the political elites in a video.

If, in 2009, China has remained the main censor the Internet, Iran, Tunisia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Uzbekistan also resorted to recurrent blockage of sites and blogs, and monitoring of expression online. Moreover, the Turkmen Internet remains entirely under state control. In this year also have attacked, threatened or detained bloggers and ordinary citizens who expressed themselves on the Net, while the popularity of social networking and participatory sites knew a huge success. Kareem Amer is an Egyptian arrested while the famous Burmese actor Zarganar you are still 34 years in prison to be served. The Turkish justice has increased even more the number of Internet sites, among them YouTube, censored because they have appeared critical of which was the first president of the Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

"From year to year has doubled the number of countries affected by the censorship. A very disturbing trend that reflects the strengthening of the control exercised over the new media, while millions of net-citizens increasingly are mobilizing on the Web For better denouncing the criminalization of the expression on the Net, Reporters Without Borders will host the March 12 mobilization against other Internet enemies, "he assured Lucie Morillon, head of the Office Internet and Freedoms.

The media in the process

At 30 December 2009, there are at least 167 journalists imprisoned around the world. Should be traced to the early 90s to find such a large number of journalists jailed worldwide. Although on several occasions, the UN Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression has repeatedly said that jail is a disproportionate penalty in cases of press, many governments maintaining these sanctions into their laws, and abusing of them. The passing of sentences for journalists in Cuba, China, Sri Lanka and Iran are as severe as those imposed on perpetrators of bloody crimes or terrorists.

Too often, prison and violence are the only answers offered by the authorities to media professionals. In the Middle East every day brings at least one arrest, or assault. In Iraq, for example, in 2009 assaulted or detained over sixty journalists. In the Palestinian Territories, Hamas in Gaza and Fatah in the West Bank arrested more than fifty journalists. Africa and Asia are competing side by side by the number of journalists arrested. In 2009 have been counted more than ten cases of arrests in Niger, Gambia and Somalia, Eritrea maintains its status of being the first African prison for journalists, with 32 others in jail. Fortunately in Asia reduced the number of arrests, but Chinese security forces continue to detain and Pakistani journalists, foreign or local, every time you exceed the red lines 'supposed' to be respected. In Honduras, the coup of 28 June 2009, supported by the conservative press, led to a real game journalists suspected of sympathy for the ousted president Manuel Zelaya, and suspension and even closure of their essays. Finally, Cuba is still distinguishes this year with at least 24 cases of arrests and imprisonment of two new long-term, bringing to 25 the number of journalists imprisoned in Cuba.

And when the powerful do not arresting journalists, were bombarded with complaints in series in the courts. In Algeria, the publication director Omar Belhouchet received, just this year, fifteen citations in court. In Turkey or Morocco, the opposition press is the target of repeated complaints, they almost always end in convictions or closures of media because the courts tend to side with the complainant, not the press.

The exile to survive

For the first time, Reporters Without Borders in its annual report includes the number of journalists forced to leave their country as a result of having been threatened his life or freedom. There have been fewer than 157 professionals have been forced to take the path of exile, often in very difficult conditions. It was massive exodus of Iranian journalists and bloggers-more than fifty, and their colleagues in Sri Lanka-not less than 29 verified cases this year.

Not to mention Africa, with the fifty Somali journalists who fled the chaos and ten Eritrean journalists forced to leave the country for fear of reprisals from the worst dictatorship on the continent. Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of 'Anthropogenic Global Warming'?

The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the internet.
When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:

An agency of the New Zealand government has been cooking the books to create a warming trend where none exists, according to a joint research project by global warming skeptics at the Climate Conversation Group and the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition. Man-made snowstorms kill at least 38 Chinese

Government scientists in Beijing have been mocked for inducing a recent heavy snowfall that jammed traffic and delayed air travel, state media says.

Sunday's snowfall dropped more than 16 million tonnes of snow on the Chinese capital, blanketing a city where winter heating services have yet to be switched on and leading to howls of public protest, the China Daily reported.

The Weather Modification Office shot massive amounts of chemicals into clouds over the city the night before to provoke the snowfall, which it said was needed due to a lingering drought in the region, the paper said.

Heating of most Beijing buildings was due to begin on November 15 but city officials were forced to move the timetable forward and were working on Wednesday to bring buildings onstream ahead of schedule.

The Polish Health Minister Eva Kopacz today told Parliament during a heated debate on the swine flu vaccination that she, as a qualified family doctor with more than 20 year of experience, will not authorise the use of untested vaccines on millions of people in Poland when there is inadequate information about the safety of the jabs.

She said the secret contract that the Polish government was supposed to sign with pharmaceutical companies had more than 20 clauses which are against the law.

Kopacz noted that governments in Western Europe had signed secret agreements with pharmaceutical companies, but suggested that the prosperity of the people of Poland was more important to her than the profits of Big Pharma.

She noted that there are three vaccines proposed for Poland with different types of adjuvants and was concerned that these vaccines were all being treated as if they were the same.

In addition, she observed that only 13 % of the people in Germany want to take the swine flu jab even though 5 times more people in Germany take the regular flu shot than in Poland, and asked why the Germans are so unwilling to take the jab.

She said there was secrecy surrounding the contents of the vaccines. There is no information about the amount of adjuvants in the vaccinesm, she added.

Furthermore, the family doctor and Health Minister said there is absolutely no information about the side effects of the swine flu jab. The pharmaceutical companies did not want to take responsibilty for the jab.

CNN's Jeanne Meserve described DHS's Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST) as "marrying a lot of existing technology, some of it medical," to measure breathing, heart rate, blinking, fidgeting, and other bodily functions of passengers at airports.

The idea is essentially to create a remote lie detector, where sensors placed at airport security screening areas would be able to monitor a passenger's physical reaction to questions being asked by screeners.

Critics have likened the concept to the "Department of Pre-Crime" in the 2001 film Minority Report, which describes a future where persons are caught and convicted of crimes before they occur.

The corporate powers in the EU have decided that incandescent (classic) lightbulb will be a thing of the past. They claim they produce too much CO2 and contribute to global warming. Both statements are false and let me tell you why. There is no man-made global warming & besides CO2 is only a small contributing factor in the natural greenhouse effect. The introduction of these CFL lamps are another outright attack on our health, safety and income!!
Since today in the EU 100W-75W are forbidden and gradually in 2010 and 2012 other wattages will follow.

Because they do not produce light in a steady stream, like an incandescent bulb, but flicker 50 times a second, some who use them for reading eventually find their eyes beginning to swim - and they can make fast-moving machine parts look stationary, posing a serious safety problem.

In addition to this, lowenergy bulbs are much more complex to make than standard bulbs, requiring up to ten times as much energy to manufacture. Unlike standard bulbs, they use toxic materials, including mercury vapour, which the EU itself last year banned from landfill sites - which means that recycling the bulbs will itself create an enormously expensive problem.

Perhaps most significantly of all, however, to run CFLs economically they must be kept on more or less continuously. The more they are turned on and off, the shorter becomes their life, creating a fundamental paradox, as is explained by an Australian electrical expert Rod Elliott (whose Elliott Sound Products website provides as good a technical analysis of the disadvantages of CFLs as any on the internet).

In other words, in every possible way this looks like a classic example of kneejerk politics, imposed on us not by our elected Parliament after full consultation and debate, but simply on the whim of 27 politicians sitting around that table in Brussels, not one of whom could have made an informed speech about the pluses and minuses of what they were proposing.

There was not a hint of democracy in this crackpot decision, which will have a major impact on all our lives, costing many of us thousands of pounds and our economy billions - all to achieve little useful purpose, while making our homes considerably less pleasant to live in.

People who listen to Short Wave radio (radio hams and enthusiasts) hate these lamps because of the interference they generate - and it travels along the mains wiring from house to house and radiates over a wide area. The light has an unpleasant quality which can make reading or fine dextrous work difficult. In short they are hopeless AND they contain mercury, which the EU has just banned.

They are not ideal task lights close to head. The low frequency field which the trigger gear generates is a hazard. Too many of these in the house and you have a very undesirable level of interference carried around the domestic wiring. This is a form of the 'dirty electricity' problem extensively encountered in the US and Canada.It is wrong to completely cut off supply of lower wattage filament / task lights.

Nationwide Revolt Against Mass Swine Flu Vaccination Accelerates

Despite nurses and frontline health workers being the primary target group to take the vaccine, just 37 per cent of them said they would take the swine flu vaccine in a survey conducted by Nursing Times magazine. 30 per cent said they would not be immunized and 33 per cent said they were unsure.

Of the 30 per cent who said they would refuse to be vaccinated, 60 per cent said the reason was due to fears about the safety of the vaccine, following revelations that the shots will contain mercury and squalene and have also been linked with the killer nerve disease Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Another 31 per cent said they would refuse the vaccine because they did not consider the risk from swine flu to be great enough.
The swine flu vaccine is being rushed through safety procedures while the government has provided pharmaceutical companies with blanket immunity from lawsuits arriving out of the vaccine causing deaths and injuries.
It was previously revealed that some batches of the vaccine will contain mercury, a toxin linked with autism and neurological disorders. The vaccine will also contain the dangerous ingredient squalene, which has been directly linked with cases of Gulf War Syndrome and a host of other debilitating diseases.
It was also recently reported that the UK government sent a confidential letter to senior neurologists telling them to be on the alert for cases of a brain disorder called Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), which could be triggered by the vaccine.

Following the leak of the letter a senior neurologist told the Daily Mail, “I would not have the swine flu jab because of the GBS risk.”
The vast majority of respondents to the London Times article about the nurses’ refusal to take the shot commented that they too would refuse to take the vaccine, mirroring sentiment across the country.

At this stage only a deadlier return of the virus backed by a massive government fearmongering campaign is going to make anything like a majority of the population take the swine flu shot.

French water distribution firm Lyonnaise des Eaux, a unit of GDF Suez (GSZ.PA) won permission from the European Commission on Wednesday to acquire six firms active in water collection, treatment and supply in France.
Lyonnaise des Eaux (LDE) is to buy shares held by Veolia Eau-Compagnie Générale des Eaux (Veolia Eau) in six subsidiaries owned jointly with Veolia Eau (VIE.PA).
The executive arm of the 27-nation European Union said in a statement that its investigation had revealed the proposed deal would not harm competition in the markets concerned.
LDE and Veolia Eau have decided to sell each other their holdings in nine joint subsidiaries which they control together. At the end of the proposed operation, LDE will take sole control of six of these companies, the Commission said.

Netanyahu Orders Swine Flu Vaccination for All Israelis

Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu has ordered the purchase of a swine-flu vaccine for all seven-plus million citizens of Israel. The estimated cost: NIS 450 million.
The vaccination is still in its developmental stage, and is expected to be delivered to Israel in a matter of months.
Netanyahu announced the decision after meeting with Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, who actually objected to it. The internet is full of conspiracy theories about chemtrails: the spray planes that are supposedly being used to conduct massive sterilisations in populated areas, for large vaccination campaigns and genetic manipulation of humans and plants, for the spread of epidemics, for the subjugation of populations, to manipulate weather and to combat climate change. Or a combination of the above.

“I find the theories all very interesting but I don’t choose a side” says alarmist Vereecke. "I’m only saying that the chemtrails have provable effects on our health en that they are being conducted by hidden power structures behind the veil of the official political world. Don’t make any illusions: what we see are merely puppets. Even Barack Obama is a puppet. The real powers are hidden under the lee."

Can you be more specific? Who are the people that are really pulling the strings?

Peter Vereecke: “Those are the co-called Illuminati, the enlightened ones. They are members of secret societies like the Bilderberg group, but are also active in business and global organisations like the United Nations and NATO. It’s not about one certain group but about a type of person with a certain DNA that is common in higher levels of power: people that do not care about the value of human life and are obsessed with power, money and control.

Names, give us a few names.

“Take Al Gore for example. He is member of the illuminati. His message about global warming only has one purpose: money. Because worldwide we will have to pay for the coming measures. That will result in higher taxes and higher food prices and environmental measures in business. That will result in a massive cash-flow. Meanwhile it is confirmed that human activity only accounts for 3% of the global warming.”

But what does Al Gore have to do with chemtrails?

“My point is this: all global processes revolve around money, power and control. The brains behind the chemtrails are at the top level of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. 100 years ago for example, 1% of people got cancer. Today that number is one in three. Dat is very convenient for some people. The cancer cure industry is a billion dollar business. Just like the treatment of so many other diseases that are skyrocketing in the last 10-15 years. Alzheimer, Parkinson, autism, ADHD, asthma, diabetes, allergies,…we have never been so sick as now. Our physical, emotional and intellectual health is being systematically undermined. How do you explain that?”

Chemtrails?

“Voilà. They certainly play a role in this because the spray planes are being used more intensively the last few years. You can observe the phenomenon in our country at least 10 days per month. Why don’t you see these chemtrails above the Sahara of the Amazon? Spraying chemicals over there would be useless as there are no people living there. Our whole environment is chemicalized: our food, healthcare, everything is based on chemistry.”

“Because our thinking processes are being conditioned. Look at the eyes of the people in the street, they are medicated and walk around like zombies. A dull look without "joie de vivre" and without an outlook on life. Hence my crusade: people wake up, open you eyes, act before it is too late…”

The French Government is developing secret plans to impose mandatory vaccination of the entire French population, allegedly against possible Swine Flu disease according to reports leaked in a French newspaper. The plan is without precedent and even defies recommended public health advice. According to a report in the May 30 edition of the French newspaper, Le Journal du Dimanche, the Sarkozy government has authorized spending of an estimated €1 billion to buy vaccines allegedly to combat or protect against H1N1 Swine Flu virus. The only problem is that to date neither the WHO nor the US Government’s Center for Diseases Control (CDC) have succeeded to isolate, photograph with an electron microscope and chemically classify the H1N1 Influenza A virus. There is no scientifically published evidence that French virologists have done so either. To mandate drugs for a putative disease that has not even been characterized is dubious to say the least.

Something to put the swine flu outbreak in perspective: The regular seasonal flu has killed more than 13,000 people in the U.S. since January, and kills between 250,000 and 500,000 worldwide annually.

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - In defiance of the European Parliament, the French lower house has approved a law that has widely been described as the most aggressive attempt to counter internet piracy yet.

The 'three-strikes' law that would cut off internet access to users found to be repeatedly downloading copyright content without the permission of the owner was passed by 296 votes to 233 in what is the government's second attempt to push through the bill.

The legislation, which creates a new government agency, the Hadopi ( the Haute Autorite pour la Diffusion des Oeuvres et la Protection des droits sur Internet, or High Authority for the Diffusion of Works and the Protection of Rights on the Internet), which first sends a web-surfer an email warning, then a letter through the post and, finally, as the third 'strike,' can interrupt his internet access for up to a year.

The bill, a flagship piece of legislation for President Nicholas Sarkozy, whose wife is a pop star, was defeated last month when deputies from the governing centre-right UMP failed to turn up to vote in sufficient numbers and the opposition Socialists managed to quash it.

However, in a move targetting the French three-strikes law, last week, the European Parliament approved an amendment to a major piece of telecommunications legislation specifically outlawing the ability of governments to cut off internet access without first receiving a court order.

The European bill including the amendment must still be endorsed by the [unelected] Council of Ministers, representing the EU member states, when telecoms ministers meet on 12 June.

Philip’s belief in population control and eugenics is like a page right out the Nazi playbook.

“Other royals also had links to the Nazis,” writes Richard Woods for the Sunday Times. “Baron Gunther von Reibnitz, the father of Princess Michael of Kent, was a party member and an honorary member of the SS. And the brother of Princess Alice, a great-aunt to the Queen, was a Nazi who said that Hitler had done a ‘wonderful job.’”

“Three of Philip’s brothers-in-law were part of a group of German aristocrats who were Anglophile and pro-Nazi at the same time, and who remain a subversive force in Germany to this day,” Thompson adds.

It’s no secret the British monarchy, and the City of London’s leading Crown bankers, enthusiastically backed Hitler and the Nazis, bankrolled the Führer’s election, and did everything possible to build the Nazi war machine.

Considering the historical record — dutifully ignored by the corporate media as Obama bows and scrapes before the Queen and her pro-Nazi and racist husband — the Queen’s gift to Felipe Calderón may be inappropriate.

Czech newspapers are questioning if the shocking discovery of vaccines contaminated with the deadly avian flu virus which were distributed to 18 countries by the American company Baxter were part of a conspiracy to provoke a pandemic.

Initially, Baxter attempted to stonewall questions by invoking “trade secrets” and refused to reveal how the vaccines were contaminated with H5N1. After increased pressure they then claimed that pure H5N1 batches were sent by accident. This was seemingly an attempt to quickly change the story and hide the fact that the accidental contamination of a vaccine with a deadly biological agent like avian flu is virtually impossible and the only way it could have happened was by wilful gross criminal negligence.

Today, they admitted that they’ve underreported Arctic ice extent by 193,000 square miles (500,000 square kilometers). They blamed the error on satellite problems and sensor drift.

Congress Seeks To Authorize & Legalize FEMA (Concentration) Camp Facilities

A new bill has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives called the National Emergency Centers Act or HR 645. This bill if passed into law will direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish national emergency centers otherwise known as FEMA camp facilities on military installations. This is an incredibly disturbing piece of legislation considering that the powers that be have already set in motion an agenda to setup a nationwide marital law apparatus through U.S. Northern Command and the Department of Homeland Security.
Apparently, the fusion centers, militarized police, surveillance cameras and a domestic military command is not enough. Even though we already know that detention facilities are already in place, they now want to legalize the construction of FEMA camps on military installations using the ever popular excuse that the facilities are for the purposes of a national emergency. With the phony debt based economy getting worse and worse by the day, the possibility of civil unrest is becoming a greater threat to the establishment. One need only look at Iceland, Greece and other nations for what might happen in the United States next. With this in mind, it appears as if these so called national emergency centers will be used in a national emergency but only if the national emergency requires large groups of people to be rounded up and detained. If that isn’t the case, than why have these national emergency facilities built in military installations?
This section authorizes the Homeland Security Secretary to setup these FEMA camps in closed or open military installations and in regions around the nation. This essentially legalizes any existing FEMA camp infrastructure that has been built in either closed or open military installations and opens the door for additional facilities to be created.
Fortunately, the bill only authorizes $180,000,000 per year for these facilities, but considering that the majority of the detention facilities are probably already built, they won’t need much additional funding. There is no doubt judging from the language of this bill, that it is meant to legalize what they’ve already been doing. After all, FEMA has already been looking at ways to transport large quantities of people to camps, they held a FEMA camp drill which consisted of an illegal alien round up in Iowa and KBR/Halliburtion has already aided in the creation of detention facilities. The rationale behind this legislation is undoubtedly to serve as a mechanism of control if the authorities need facilities to hold large amounts of dissenting people. This is not to help people. One only needs to take a look at what happened during Hurricane Katrina and it is obvious that the government does not care about the people. They didn’t care then, and they don’t care now, and these facilities built or unbuilt will definitely not be utilized for the people’s interest.
