Face scans for air passengers to begin in UK this summer

Airline passengers are to be screened with facial recognition technology rather than checks by passport officers, in an attempt to improve security and ease congestion, the Guardian can reveal. FBI wants widespread monitoring of 'illegal' Internet activity

The suggestion from FBI Director Robert Mueller, which came during a House of Representatives Judiciary Committee hearing, appears to go beyond a current plan to monitor traffic on federal-government networks. Chinese Regime Implicated in Staging Violence

Evidence is accumulating that the Chinese regime orchestrated violence in Lhasa in order to discredit the peaceful protests of Buddhist monks.

According to the Dalai Lama's Chinese translator, Ngawang Nyendra, a witness reported that a Chinese policeman in Lhasa disguised himself as a Tibetan and joined the protesters holding a knife in his hand. This witness also recognized the man from BBC news footage and news photos provided by China.
After the protests on March 14, she and other foreigners were sent to the police station where she saw a man with a knife in his hand walking in with some arrested Tibetans. The man later took off the Tibetan-style clothes and put on a police uniform.

UK: 40,000 kids put on DNA crimes list

In the last six months alone details of nearly 38,000 young people have been put into the computer, including nearly 4,000 under-16s.
The most samples were taken in London, where the DNA of 4,625 under 18s have been added to the database since October 2007.
In the West Midlands 2,507 DNA samples were recorded and in Greater Manchester 1,935.
The youngsters represent nearly a quarter of all samples taken.
In total, the UK now holds nearly five million profiles - the world's biggest DNA list.
